Tally data on your phone

“All my numbers are in Tally, and Tally is on the office PC. When I am at a site or a customer’s shop I can’t see who owes me, what is in stock or what we sold today.” There are three ways to get Tally data onto your phone. Exporting a report gives you a snapshot. A viewer shows you Tally. BizOS brings your Tally data in and lets you run the business from the phone — bill, collect, chase dues and move stock — while Tally is kept in step for your CA.

Three ways to get Tally data on your phone

What you getWhat it costs you
Export a report from Tally and send it to yourselfA file (Excel or PDF) as it was when you exported itSomeone at the Tally PC does it every time; the file is stale by evening
A remote viewer for TallyA view of Tally’s own data on your phoneYou can look, but billing, collection and stock still happen at the Tally PC
BizOS connected to TallyYour customers, items, stock and bills in an app you run the business fromA one-time setup on the Tally PC; your team bills in BizOS and Tally is kept in step

If all you need is to glance at a number now and then, an export or a viewer may be enough. If the real problem is that the business is stuck on one office PC — bills, payments and stock only happen where Tally is — BizOS is the better answer, because it moves the daily work to the phone instead of only the reading.

What comes from Tally into BizOS?

Once Tally is connected, you choose for each kind of record whether it comes into BizOS (pull), goes to Tally (push), both, or neither.

From TallyWhat you then see in BizOS on your phone
Party ledgers (customers under Sundry Debtors)Customers with phone, GSTIN and what each one owes
Stock items, groups, categoriesItems & stock, searchable and ready to bill
Godowns and stockStock per location; godowns go live one at a time
Price levelsPrice lists used on bills
Sales vouchers made in TallyInvoices from your sync-from date, with balance due
Receipt vouchersPayments that settle the bill they name
Purchase vouchersStock coming in; at a live godown, Tally purchases move BizOS stock
Sales ordersSales orders and committed stock
SuppliersSupplier contacts for reorder lists

What does not come across: balances from before your sync-from date (bring them in once as opening dues — see the steps below), and Tally’s accounting side — journals, bank, ledgers other than customers and suppliers, trial balance, P&L and balance sheet. Those stay in Tally with your CA. The full list of what syncs is on Tally integration.

What can you do on the phone once it is in BizOS?

See today at a glance

The dashboard opens on what there is to collect, sales and collections today, and what needs you — overdue bills, follow-ups, low stock.

Know who owes you

Every customer shows what they owe and since when. Receivables ageing buckets it 0–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days in Reports.

Bill and get paid on the spot

Make a GST invoice on the phone, send it on WhatsApp with a UPI QR or payment link, and record the payment with a numbered receipt.

Check stock anywhere

Item stock per location, low-stock alerts and reorder lists — the same numbers Tally gets.

Chase dues without calling

Automatic WhatsApp payment reminders before and after the due date, and a follow-up list of who to call today.

Give staff their own access

Six fixed roles: a field technician sees only their own jobs; an accountant sees money but cannot change bills.

How do I get my Tally data on my phone with BizOS?

  1. 1

    Sign up for BizOS

Sign in at the BizOS web app with your mobile number and the OTP, and name your business. Every new business gets a 30-day trial with no credit card.

  2. 2

    Connect Tally

In BizOS open Settings, then Connections & AI, then Tally. Install the small BizOS program on the Windows PC that runs TallyPrime (BizOS support gives you the installer), keep Tally open with your company loaded, and pair it with the code BizOS shows. The Tally setup page has every step.

  3. 3

    Choose what comes in

In the wizard, set customers, items, invoices and receipts to come in from Tally (Full two-way sync does this), and pick the date to sync from, usually 1 April of this financial year.

  4. 4

    Bring in older dues once

Bills from before your sync-from date do not come across. In TallyPrime open your outstanding (bills receivable) report and export it to Excel, then in BizOS use Import from Excel and choose Opening dues. Those bills are then chased like any other.

  5. 5

    Install the app

Install BizOS on your Android phone or iPhone and sign in with the same mobile number. Your dashboard, customers, bills and stock are there.

  6. 6

    Start working from the phone

Make bills and record payments in BizOS. They reach Tally as vouchers on their own, so your CA sees everything in Tally as before.

The Tally PC only needs to be on for syncing

Your data in BizOS is readable on the phone at any time. When the Tally PC is off or Tally is closed, the sync simply waits: bills made in BizOS queue up and reach Tally when it is open again. Nothing is lost.

How do I export a report from Tally?

In TallyPrime, open the report you want (for example Bills Receivable, Stock Summary or Day Book) and use Export (Alt+E) to save it as Excel or PDF. You can then send the file to your phone. It is a snapshot: it shows the figures as they were at that moment, and someone has to repeat it whenever you want fresh numbers.

In BizOS every report is live on screen and downloads as PDF or CSV whenever you need a file — receivables ageing, sales by period, top customers, the day book, collections by staff, stock movement, expenses and more. See Reports. For your CA, BizOS also produces a Tally XML or Zoho Books export and the GSTR-1 file, per GSTIN.

What BizOS will not show you

  • Tally’s accounting reports. Balance sheet, P&L, trial balance, ledger accounts, bank and cash books stay in Tally. BizOS reports cover sales, dues, collections, stock, expenses, leads and staff.
  • Entries you choose not to sync. If, say, receipts are set to push only, receipts made in Tally do not appear in BizOS.
  • Anything before your sync-from date, unless you import opening dues.

If what you need on the phone is your CA’s accounting statements, ask your CA for them from Tally. If what you need is to run the shop, the site or the team from the phone, that is what BizOS is for.

Common questions

How can I see my Tally data on my mobile?
Connect TallyPrime to BizOS. A small BizOS program on the Tally PC brings your customers, items, godowns, stock, price levels, the bills and receipts made in Tally, purchases and sales orders into BizOS, which runs on Android, iPhone and any browser. You then see who owes you, what you sold and what is in stock on your phone, and you can bill and collect from it too.
Is BizOS a Tally mobile app?
No. BizOS is a separate product, not made by Tally Solutions, that connects to TallyPrime. It is an app to run your business from the phone — billing, payments, stock, customers, staff and WhatsApp — and it keeps Tally in step so your CA keeps the books there.
Can I see Tally outstanding (who owes me money) on my phone?
Yes, with BizOS. Bills and receipts from Tally come into BizOS from the date you choose to sync from, and each customer shows what they owe. Older bills from before that date are brought in once by exporting Tally's outstanding report to Excel and importing it in BizOS as opening dues.
Can I see Tally stock on my phone?
Yes. BizOS brings in your Tally items and godowns, and as each godown goes live BizOS takes Tally's quantity there and keeps it up to date. You check stock per location on the BizOS app, and BizOS keeps Tally in step.
Does the Tally computer need to be on to see data on my phone?
No. BizOS keeps its own copy of the data, so you can read it on the phone any time. The Tally PC and TallyPrime need to be on only for the sync itself; anything made in BizOS while the PC is off reaches Tally when it is open again.
How do I export a Tally report to Excel or PDF?
In TallyPrime, open the report and use Export (Alt+E) to save it as Excel or PDF. That gives a snapshot as at that moment. In BizOS, every report is live on screen and downloads as PDF or CSV (which opens in Excel) whenever you need a file.
Do I need a static IP, port forwarding or a VPN to use Tally on mobile with BizOS?
No. The BizOS program on the Tally PC calls out to BizOS; nothing connects inward to your office, so your Tally is never exposed to the internet.
Can I see my balance sheet or P&L from Tally in BizOS?
No. BizOS does not show Tally's accounting reports such as balance sheet, P&L, trial balance or ledger accounts. It shows the business side: sales, dues, collections, stock, expenses, leads and staff. Accounting statements stay in Tally with your CA.
