About BizOS
- What is BizOS?
- BizOS is a mobile-first, WhatsApp-first app that runs an Indian local business in one place: daily operations (leads, quotations, sales orders, jobs, deliveries, invoices, payment chasing, stock, follow-ups and automation), GST billing (invoices, receipts, advances, credit notes, GSTR-1 export) and marketing (WhatsApp campaigns and journeys). It is not accounting software: the books stay in Tally, which BizOS keeps up to date.
- Is BizOS accounting software?
- BizOS is not accounting software; it runs the whole business. GST invoices, receipts, advances, credit notes and the GSTR-1 file are part of running the business, so BizOS makes them. The books themselves (purchase bills with a supplier ledger, journals, bank reconciliation, P&L, balance sheet, TDS, payroll) stay in Tally or with your CA, and BizOS keeps Tally up to date with every bill, receipt and credit note. BizOS does not file returns.
- Who is BizOS for?
- Indian local businesses: retail shops, distributors and wholesalers, electricians, plumbers, AC and RO service firms, repair centres, salons, interior and fabrication firms, tailors, equipment rental businesses and small contractors.
- Do I need to be GST-registered to use BizOS?
- No. If you are not registered, BizOS bills print as INVOICE with no GST. If you are, mark the business GST-registered in Settings and BizOS charges GST on every bill, with CGST and SGST or IGST worked out from the GSTINs.
- Is BizOS available outside India?
- BizOS is built for India: rupees, IST, +91 phone numbers, GST, a financial year from April and WhatsApp as the main channel. It bills in rupees only.
- Is BizOS available in Indian languages?
- The BizOS app is in English. WhatsApp templates sent to customers can be in other languages, each approved by Meta, and Ask BizOS replies in the language you ask in.
Pricing and plans
- How much does BizOS cost?
- BizOS has a free platform. The Billing base is 2,999 rupees a year; modules such as CRM, Jobs, WhatsApp Business and Tally Sync cost 1,999 to 5,999 rupees a year each; bundles are Shop Pro at 7,999, Service Pro at 12,999 and Complete at 19,999 rupees a year, or monthly autopay. Extra users are 999 rupees a year for office staff and 499 for field staff. All prices are before 18% GST, and the app shows the current prices.
- What does the free BizOS platform include?
- One user, up to 100 customers and 20 invoices a month, quotations, payments and receipts, follow-ups, the dashboard, single-location stock, expenses and reports. PDFs on the free platform carry a small Made with BizOS footer, and the AI assistant is not included.
- Do I need a credit card to start?
- No. BizOS sign-up needs only a +91 mobile number that can receive an SMS, and the 30-day trial starts by itself with nothing to cancel.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- The business moves to the plan it has chosen, or the free platform. It is a downgrade, never a lockout: every customer, bill, job and message stays, and anything above your plan stops only for new work until you buy it.
- Which BizOS plan do I need for AMC contracts, Tally or campaigns?
- AMC contracts come with the Jobs & Field Service module (in Service Pro and Complete). Tally sync and Tally or Zoho exports come with the Tally Sync module (in Complete). Campaigns and your own WhatsApp number come with the WhatsApp Business module (in all three bundles). Payment links, automatic reminders and GSTR-1 export come with the Billing base.
- Does BizOS charge per WhatsApp message?
- Messages from your own connected number are billed by Meta per message, and BizOS adds nothing. Messages from the shared BizOS number count against your plan's monthly allowance; beyond it they are paid from a prepaid wallet. Sharing a bill through your own WhatsApp app is always free.
Tally, GST and your CA
- Is BizOS a Tally alternative?
- Yes, for running the whole business rather than keeping the books. BizOS moves billing, stock, payment collection, customers, leads, jobs, staff and WhatsApp onto the phone and any browser. It connects to Tally, imports your masters and stock once and keeps Tally in step with every bill, receipt and credit note, so your CA keeps the books in Tally and you can stop billing in Tally whenever you are ready without losing anything.
- Can I see my Tally data on my mobile?
- Yes, through BizOS. Connected to TallyPrime, BizOS brings in your customers, items, godowns, stock, price levels and the bills and receipts made in Tally, so you see who owes you, what you sold and what is in stock on Android, iPhone or any browser, and you can bill and collect from the phone too. The Tally PC only needs to be on for syncing. Tally's accounting reports such as P&L and balance sheet stay in Tally.
- How do I export a report from Tally?
- In TallyPrime, open the report and use Export (Alt+E) to save it as Excel or PDF; it is a snapshot as at that moment. Connected to BizOS, your sales, dues and stock are live on your phone instead, and every BizOS report downloads as PDF or CSV whenever you need a file.
- How does BizOS connect to Tally?
- A small Windows program on the PC running TallyPrime connects it to BizOS, with no port forwarding, static IP or VPN. A six-step setup in Settings, Connections & AI, Tally pairs it, retrieves your ledgers, godowns, voucher types and stock groups, lets you map them, and lets you choose what syncs each way. It needs the Tally Sync module.
- Who owns the stock quantity when BizOS and Tally are connected?
- Once a godown goes live in BizOS, BizOS owns its quantity and sends every sale, credit note and transfer to Tally naming the godown. Godowns go live one at a time, each opening with Tally's quantity as at the day before.
- Does BizOS file GST returns?
- No. BizOS prepares GSTR-1 for each GSTIN as a JSON file for the GST portal's offline upload and as CSVs for your CA, with a list of problems to fix first. Filing is yours. BizOS does not prepare GSTR-3B and does not generate e-invoice IRNs or e-way bills.
- Can my CA get my sales without Tally sync?
- Yes. Under Accounting, Export for CA, BizOS makes a Tally XML file or a Zoho Books CSV set for a period, which your CA imports. It needs the Tally Sync module.
- Can BizOS continue my bill numbers from Tally or a bill book?
- Yes. BizOS can carry a series on from your last number, with your prefix, digits, suffix and the financial year in the number, restarting every April or every month if you want. Each BizOS series can also name the Tally voucher type its bills go into.
- Can I use my own WhatsApp number with BizOS?
- Yes, with the WhatsApp Business module. Your number is connected to BizOS so documents, reminders and campaigns go from it and replies land in the shared Chats inbox. Without the module, BizOS sends from its shared number within your monthly allowance, and you can always share from your own WhatsApp app.
- Do my customers need an app to see a quote or invoice?
- No. BizOS documents open as a link in any browser with no login. Customers can accept or decline a quote, confirm a delivery or pay a bill from that page.
- Why can't I type a free-text WhatsApp message to some customers?
- WhatsApp allows free-form business messages only within 24 hours of the customer's last message. Outside that window Meta requires an approved template, and BizOS offers a template instead of the text box.
- What happens if a customer replies STOP?
- They are opted out at once, and BizOS blocks customer-facing WhatsApp sends to them from then on, including reminders and campaigns. You can reverse it from their customer page if they ask.
- Will BizOS message my customers at night?
- BizOS payment reminders go out once a day, at about 7:15 am IST. Automations follow their triggers: a Wait step that would end between 9 pm and 9 am IST resumes at 9 am by default, but a message straight after an event, such as a thank-you on payment, goes when the event happens. Add a short Wait if that matters.
Using it day to day
- Does BizOS work offline?
- In the BizOS web app, invoices and quotations can be created offline once your item list has synced; they show as waiting to sync and upload exactly once when the connection returns. Sending, payments and PDFs need a connection, and the phone app needs a connection to save.
- Is there a BizOS app for Android and iPhone?
- Yes. In the office view, staff bill, quote, record payments and expenses, run jobs, leads and follow-ups, check stock and, where their role allows, read reports. A field technician gets a simpler view of only their own jobs and deliveries. Chats, campaigns, contracts, automations and Tally stay in the web app.
- Can I use a barcode scanner and a thermal printer?
- Yes. The Rapid billing layout in the web app is built around a scan bar, and BizOS has an 80 mm thermal roll design among its 16 document designs. Bills can also print on your own pre-printed letterhead.
- Can BizOS chase overdue payments for me?
- Yes. Switched on, BizOS payment reminders go out on WhatsApp 3 days before the due date, on it, and 3 and 7 days after by default, at most once a day per invoice, and stop when it is paid. For a longer escalation, build an automation.
- Can I use my own job stages and lead stages?
- Yes. Each BizOS stage has a fixed meaning behind your name for it (to do, in progress, done or cancelled for jobs; open, won or lost for leads), so renaming or adding stages never breaks reports or automations. You can also run several lead pipelines.
- Can I add fields BizOS doesn't have?
- Yes. Define a field once in one of ten types and tick which records it belongs to: leads, customers, jobs, quotations, sales orders, invoices and contracts, up to 60 fields in all. Fields can be required, shown in lists, used in automations and WhatsApp messages, and printed on PDFs.
Branches, orders, rentals and numbering
- Can BizOS run several branches or GSTINs?
- Yes, with the Branches add-on, which BizOS support sets up for you. Each branch prints its own address and brand, numbers its own bills, keeps its own stock and can trade under its own GSTIN; staff can be limited to their branches, and GSTR-1 is prepared per GSTIN. A separate firm is a second business under the same login instead.
- Does BizOS have sales orders?
- Yes, as an option you switch on. An accepted quotation becomes a sales order, you collect advances against it, and you bill it in one go or in parts; BizOS tracks what is ordered, billed and still to bill. A sales order moves no stock and is not a bill; its invoices are.
- Can I rent out equipment with BizOS?
- Yes, with the Equipment Rentals add-on. Rentals have day, week or month rates, a security deposit held for the rental, a challan the customer confirms, part returns, late days and rent bills. Separately, the Jobs module tracks which technician took which tool.
- How are bill numbers made in BizOS?
- Each document type has a series with a prefix, a number of digits and a suffix, set in Settings, Selling, Numbering. The prefix or suffix can carry the financial year or month, and the counter can restart every April or every month. Numbers are taken on the server and are unique within a financial year.
Team and access
- What roles does BizOS have?
- Six fixed roles, the same in every business: Owner, Admin, Manager, Accountant, Office staff and Field technician. A business does not edit roles; if one does not fit, BizOS support can make an extra role for that business.
- Can I stop staff from seeing everything?
- Yes. Each role sees only its part of BizOS: for example, office staff do not see reports, and an accountant sees money but cannot create or change bills. A field technician sees only the jobs and deliveries assigned to them. With branches, the Owner or Admin can also limit a person to certain branches.
- How many people can use BizOS?
- The free platform has one user. The Billing base adds one office user, Shop Pro includes 3 office users, Service Pro 3 office and 3 field users, and Complete 5 of each. Beyond that, each extra person is a seat: 999 rupees a year for an office user and 499 for a field user, before GST.
- Can my accountant have access to BizOS?
- Yes, with the Accountant role. They see sales, payments and reports, chase dues, and handle the Tally and GSTR-1 hand-off, but cannot create, edit or cancel sales documents.
- Can one person work in two businesses?
- Yes. One phone number can own or work in several BizOS businesses, with a different role in each, and switch between them without signing out. Each business has its own plan, data and team.
Data and migration
- Can I import my existing customers and items?
- Yes. BizOS imports customers, items with opening stock, leads and opening dues from CSV or Excel files of up to 20,000 rows, with a column-matching step, a choice to skip or update duplicates, and an error file for rows that need fixing.
- Can I bring in money customers already owe me?
- Yes. Import opening dues. BizOS chases those balances like any other invoice but keeps them out of revenue totals, since the money was earned before you used BizOS.
- Can I get my data out of BizOS?
- BizOS reports download as CSV or PDF, the activity log exports, GSTR-1 comes as JSON and CSVs, your accountant can get Tally XML or Zoho Books files with the Tally Sync module, and the API module lets other tools read your records.
- Is my data separate from other businesses on BizOS?
- Yes. Every BizOS record belongs to one business and every query is limited to it in the data layer, not just the screen.
- Can BizOS support staff see or change my data?
- Only in a support session started from the BizOS admin console with a stated reason, lasting 30 minutes by default and 60 at most. A session can be view only, or make changes, which is the default so support can fix things for you. Every change is recorded in your activity log as BizOS support, and support cannot buy plans, create API keys or change your personal profile.
