Reports
"Who owes me the most?" "Is the business growing?" "Which technician is carrying the team?" "Which branch is pulling its weight?" Reports in BizOS answer those on screen first: pick a report, set the dates, read the answer. A PDF or CSV is a download you take only when you need a file to send someone.
The library
The Reports page groups the reports on shelves, with Find a report to search them by name or description.
| Shelf | Report | Answers |
|---|---|---|
| Money | Revenue by Period | What did I actually collect, by day, week, month or quarter? |
| Money | Outstanding Receivables | Who owes me, bucketed 0–30 / 31–60 / 61–90 / 90+ days, as of a date |
| Money | Top Customers by Revenue | Which customers were billed the most in this window? |
| Money | Day Book (Money In & Out) | Money in, money out and net, one row per day, printable |
| Branches & orders | Branch Comparison | Per branch: sales billed, collected, still owed, open orders, expenses and jobs completed, side by side |
| Branches & orders | Pending Sales Orders | What is still to bill on open orders, by customer, item or branch, aged on the expected date, with lines short of stock |
| Team | Payment Collection by Staff | Collection attributed to each team member |
| Team | Staff summary | Jobs completed, hours logged and revenue per person |
| Leads & follow-ups | Lead Funnel by Pipeline | Per pipeline: leads that came in, where they sit by stage, won and lost, win rate and average days to close |
| Leads & follow-ups | Lead Interest Conversion | What leads asked about, and how much of it turned into invoiced sales |
| Leads & follow-ups | Follow-up Conversion | The follow-up → quotation → invoice funnel |
| Work & stock | Job Completion Rate | Completion rate and average turnaround per person |
| Work & stock | Inventory Movement | Stock in vs out, by count and value |
| Spending | Expense Summary | Spending grouped by category, staff or payment method |
Branch Comparison appears only for a business with branches, and Pending Sales Orders only where sales orders are switched on.
Which one to open
“Who do I chase this week?”
Outstanding Receivables, as of today. The 90+ bucket is the list you act on first.
“Is the business growing?”
Revenue by Period, grouped by month. It counts collected money, not invoiced money: cash reality, not paper.
“Which pipeline is actually closing?”
Lead Funnel by Pipeline for win rate and days to close per board, and Lead Interest Conversion for which products leads ask about and buy.
“What have I promised but not billed?”
Pending Sales Orders, grouped by customer or item, with the lines you are short of stock for.
“Which technician is carrying the team?”
Job Completion Rate for throughput and turnaround, alongside the Staff summary for jobs, hours and revenue per person.
“Where is my money going?”
Expense Summary by category for the shape of it, Day Book for the day-by-day detail your accountant wants.
Running one
Open a report and set its options. Most take a date range, and some take more:
- Revenue by Period: group by day, week, month or quarter.
- Outstanding Receivables: an as-of date, so you can reproduce last month’s position exactly.
- Top Customers: how many to list, plus optional custom-field columns and filters.
- Inventory Movement: one location, or all. It always counts the whole business, not one branch.
- Expense Summary: group by category, staff or payment method.
- Lead Funnel and Lead Interest Conversion: one pipeline, or every lead pipeline.
- Pending Sales Orders: group by customer, item or branch.
The table renders with the right alignment per column (money right-aligned, dates in IST, percentages as percentages) and a summary strip of the headline numbers above it.
Exporting
CSV for anything you want to slice further in Excel, PDF for anything you want to send or print. Both are generated from the same result you’re looking at. Downloading is a separate permission from viewing, so a support-made extra role can read reports without exporting data.
Reports aren't the accounting hand-off
If the file is for your CA, don’t send them a CSV of a report. Use Accounting exports, which produce Tally XML or Zoho Books files that import as vouchers, or the GSTR-1 export for your return filing.
Staff summary
A separate view answering “how did each person do?” over a period: jobs completed, hours logged and revenue per team member, with the team totals above. Combined with Payment Collection by Staff and post-job feedback ratings, it’s enough for an honest appraisal conversation without anybody keeping a private spreadsheet. For lead owners against their monthly targets, see Sales team.
Reports on the phone
The BizOS mobile app has a Reports home with a sales report for a period (total, by day, by payment method, top items and top customers) and a profit figure that is sales before GST less expenses. That figure is a cash-style “after expenses” view: it does not subtract the cost of goods, and it is not a profit and loss statement.
Common questions
- Can I see how much customers owe me, by age, in BizOS?
- Yes. The BizOS Outstanding Receivables report buckets every unpaid balance into 0–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days as of a date you choose, so you can also reproduce a past month's position.
- Do BizOS reports count invoiced money or collected money?
- Revenue by Period counts collected payments, so it reflects cash reality rather than paper. Top Customers ranks by invoiced amount. Each BizOS report states what it measures.
- Can I export BizOS reports to Excel?
- Yes, as CSV, which opens directly in Excel. PDF is available for anything you want to print or send. Both are made from the same result you see on screen.
- Are reports included in the free BizOS plan?
- Yes. Reports are free on every BizOS plan and are not part of any paid module. Some reports appear only when you use the feature they report on, such as branches or sales orders.
- Does BizOS have a report of sales orders not yet billed?
- Yes. The BizOS Pending Sales Orders report shows what is still to bill on open orders, grouped by customer, item or branch, aged on the expected date, with the lines you are short of stock for.
- Can BizOS compare my branches?
- Yes. For a business with branches, the BizOS Branch Comparison report shows each branch's sales billed, money collected, amount still owed, open orders, expenses and jobs completed side by side.
- How do I measure staff performance in BizOS?
- The BizOS Staff summary shows jobs completed, hours logged and revenue per person; Job Completion Rate adds turnaround time; Payment Collection by Staff shows what each person collected; and post-job feedback ratings are attributed to the lead technician.
- Does BizOS produce a profit and loss statement or balance sheet?
- No. BizOS reports cover sales, collections, dues, expenses, stock movement, leads and staff, and an invoice shows its own profit after cost of goods and delivery for the Owner and Admin. A full profit and loss statement and balance sheet are not produced; use your accounting books in Tally or with your CA for those.
