Several businesses

Plenty of owners run more than one firm: an electrical shop and a plumbing service, a trading company and a family partnership firm. You should not need two phones or two logins. In BizOS one phone number can own or work in several businesses, and you switch between them from a business picker. Each business stays completely separate — its own customers, bills, team, plan and wallet.

A second business or branches?

This is the question to settle first.

Your situationUseWhy
A separate firm: its own PAN, its own books, maybe different partnersA second businessNothing should mix — customers, numbering, GST returns, plan
Outlets of one firm (one PAN), even in different statesBranches inside one businessOne customer list, one item catalogue, combined reports, stock transfers
You work for another business as staffTheir business, where they add you to the teamYour own business is untouched

Branches share customers, items and reports and give the owner the combined view; separate businesses never do.

How do I add another business?

  1. 1

    Open the business switcher

On the web, click your business name in the top bar. In the mobile app, go to More → Switch.

  2. 2

    Choose Add another business

It opens the same short form you used at sign-up. In the mobile app it opens the web form.

  3. 3

    Name the new business

Business names are unique across BizOS, so add a city or area if the name is common.

  4. 4

    Start working

You become its Owner and it starts its own 30-day trial. BizOS moves you into it straight away.

Switching between businesses

  • When you sign in, a picker lists your businesses — the one you used last first, then the ones you own, then the rest by name — with your role in each.
  • On the web, the switcher in the top bar changes business at any time. The page reloads, so nothing from the previous business stays on screen.
  • In the mobile app, More → Switch.

One business per browser at a time

Switching business in one browser tab switches the whole browser. If another tab is still showing the old business, BizOS pauses it and tells you, then reloads it into the business that is open now — so nothing is ever saved into the wrong business. Working in two businesses side by side in two tabs is not supported.

What is separate in each business?

Separate per businessNotes
Customers, leads, items, stock, documentsEach business has its own records and number series
Team and rolesYour role can differ in each; deactivating you in one leaves the others untouched
Trial, plan, modules and seatsEach business gets its own 30-day trial and buys its own plan
Wallet and monthly allowancesShared-number WhatsApp messages and AI credits are per business
Settings, templates, WhatsApp connectionConfigure each one on its own

There is no combined bill, shared wallet or seat shared across businesses, and no “all businesses” dashboard. See Plans & pricing.

Limits

LimitDefault
Businesses one person may own5 — BizOS support can raise it for you
New businesses one person may create in an hour3

Working in a business as staff does not count towards the owned-business limit.

Guarding against duplicate businesses

If you fill in the sign-up form again with the name of a business you already own, BizOS opens that business rather than creating a second, empty copy. A different name creates a new business. A name already used by someone else is refused, because business names are unique across BizOS. If your business fails to load because of a network problem, BizOS shows a retry screen — it never sends you back to the sign-up form.

BizOS support and your other businesses

When BizOS support signs in to help with one of your businesses, that session sees only that business: the switcher lists nothing else and cannot add a business. See Security & your data.

Common questions

Can I manage two businesses with one BizOS login?
Yes. One phone number can own or work in several BizOS businesses. You pick the business when you sign in and switch from the top bar on the web or More → Switch in the mobile app.
Is data shared between my BizOS businesses?
No. Each BizOS business has its own customers, documents, items, team, settings, trial, plan, wallet and seats. Only your login is shared, and there are no combined reports across businesses.
Should I use a second business or branches in BizOS?
Use a second business for a separate firm with its own PAN and books. Use the Branches add-on for several outlets of one firm under one PAN, because branches share customers, items and reports and give a combined view.
How many businesses can I own in BizOS?
Up to 5 by default, and BizOS support can raise that limit for you. You can create at most 3 new businesses in an hour. Businesses where you only work as staff do not count.
Does each BizOS business need its own plan?
Yes. Every BizOS business gets its own 30-day trial and buys its own plan, modules, seats and wallet top-ups. There is no combined bill across businesses.
Can I have a different role in each business?
Yes. Your role is set per business, so you can be the Owner of your own business and, for example, a Field technician in a business that added you to its team.
